Michael and five friends travel through the eastern & central parts of Washington State in 2007.
Starting from the high viewpoint of Steptoe Butte near Whitman, WA, the trip explores late Spring in the Palouse – the incredibly rich wheat and crop growing area south of Spokane, WA. The trip continues westward past Mount Adams and onto the slopes of Mount St. Helens.
There are three separate videos.
The first is a 25 minute travelogue & print discussion with Michael, Kevin Raber & Jack Perkins (filmed in the quirky Orange Lodge in Herring Neck, Newfoundland).
The second video ‘WheatMan’ features Bill Atkinson in discussion with Michael. Bill shows and explains the techniques used for his large prints of wheat and canola fields in the Palouse.
The videos are completed by a slideshow of all five photographers’ work from the trip.
